It may not be that surprising to think about, but some people are much more worried about their future than others. They, the future oriented people, seem to always be on the look out for new trends and ideas, always trying to improve. A friend of mine is like that. He has a diverse knowledge and he’s constantly thinking about his future plans. That’s nice, but do you ever stop and take a break? Suppose you’re on top of your game; is that a reason to stop and wait for a new challenge to get you going again?
I think a person needs to try new things once he’s gotten a hold of a certain trade. I think there is always room for improvement and expansion. A successful person should always look for new challenges, so as not to stagnate.
Long-term unchallenging environment leads to stagnation, I believe.
But I have nothing against people who prefer to work in a friendly, relaxed environment. If that’s your thing, then by all means. Many times I, myself, will choose a pressure-free zone over a competitive environment. It’s just that I have not felt challenged for such a long time that I’m becoming really tired of it.
