One Bird in Hand Better Than Ten on a Tree

After all the interviews and assessments, NCB finally thinks that I’m worthy of the Assistance Relationship Manager position. Now, I proved to my father that I’m employable. In fact, I’m so employable, I can turn down job offers without much thought. I’m sensing that he’s impressed by my decision to turn down the offer. At any rate, my father suggested that I leave my options open by telling NCB that I might come back next year in case my plans in the UAE don’t go as I expect.

Even though I could follow my dad’s advice, I shouldn’t give myself a chance to fail. I know I don’t want to live in Saudi Arabia. This country is mind numbingly tame. There is no excitement and deviance in the slightest modern sense is untolerated. So, I’m digging my way out!

For now, I can imagine a bright future in the UAE. But I can’t tell the outcome of my move to the UAE until I actually do it.
