In the previous MW2 article, I’ve given crucial tips and strategies for improving your MW2 game on Xbox 360. But as I play more and more, I discover even more tricks and tactics. This time, I want to share with you how to dramatically improve your aim and set your enemies on fire every time they come near your crosshair.
Have you noticed the built-in aim assist feature?
If you’ve played the single player mode, the training should have brought your attention to the aim assist feature of the game. It’s kinda like an aim-bot — only it doesn’t ruin the game!!
The makers of MW2 know that because of the high level of graphics, the range of fire can be very long. Sometimes you’ll have to snipe an enemy from across the map, so you’ll be trying to aim at a little moving dot on your screen. With the stick of the Xbox controller, this can be very difficult. That’s why the game has a built-in feature to help you aim your sights.
Here’s how it works.
Before you aim down the sights, put your opponent at the center of your crosshair. Only when your opponent is exactly at (or near) the center of your crosshair, aim down the sights. You know what this will do? It will adjust your sights to point them dead at your opponent even if your initial centering is slightly off. Not only that, but it’ll also automatically adjust to follow your target if the target moves a little.
This feature is obvious in the single player mode. But because the feature is nerfed in the multiplayer mode, it is less noticeable. And therefore fewer people know about it and take advantage of it. That should be good news for you since you now know about it!! ![]()
Lose the Red Dot Sights (RDS) and the Holographic Sights (HS)
Once you practice and learn to take advantage of the aim assist feature, attachments that reduce your field of vision become a disadvantage. With the aim assist feature, you can aim and kill even if your screen went blank every time you aimed down the sights. So, why would you need RDS or HS? Their sizes add to your blind spot and therefore increase your vulnerability. Instead, use other attachments you enjoy, like grenade launcher or FMJ. FMJ is my choice because of its sheer firepower.
Always know where your crosshair is pointing
Your survival in MW2 largely depends on how quickly and accurately you can aim and shoot — just like a cowboy shootout. If you’re running around the map without paying attention to where your crosshair is pointing and you run into an enemy unexpectedly, you’ll take much longer to find where your crosshair is pointing exactly and then adjust.
hey dude this helped alot ive gotten 2 chopper gunners in one match after reading the articles Thanks
Does this also works on PS3?
@clown, I don’t know if it applies to PS3. I don’t have one. Maybe someone who’s tried it on PS3 can tell us.
Does the auto aim thing work with ACOG??
I don’t know KP. I haven’t tried it, but you can try it yourself and let us know.
Is this campaign or multiplayer i have ps3 and their is the auto aim in campaign but not in multiplayer
@Hammrtime, This is multi-player. The auto-aim exists in both Campaign mode and multi-player mode, but as stated in the article, it’s more subtle in the multi-player mode.
Then the ps3 does not have this feture that bullshi*
but then again u am allready a 10persteige 70 so i gess ihav no need for some thing that helps in multiplayer i also hav all of the trofies and if any on needs help my psn id is zippydodda
GEE THANKS BRO YOU JUST SUGGESTED MORE PEOPLE TO USE THE GRENADE LAUNCHER AKA THE NOOB TUBE: THE REASON THIS GAME SUCKS.
You can’t deal with noobtube? You suck!
I’ve tried to test it on PS3 but not really noticed, if your see a target and lock on and shoot youre not always hitting the target automatically, someone else experienced this aim technique at PS3?
works on ps3 multiplayer n all!
This feature could be an asset, but only if you have sleight of hand pro in your class.. Anything else will slow down your ADS time, and you will more than likely get killed trying to do this. I personally use the auto aim feature, but only on my sleight of hand classes. If im using marathon or anything like that, i’ll just enter a new area with my sights aimed down already..
i think it is on ps3. i’ve been using acog scope on the m16a4 lately and it seems pretty good so far
@ Prodigy;
So with SoH you can easily use iron sight.
Withoud SoH you can better use red/holo sight voor faster aiming
??
Great tips. I have appreciated all the info.
One thought on GL – is it still a noob tube when prestige’s use it?
Anyone want level stinger quick. Pick your best AR, stinger – SoH, CB, Scrambler
it does work on ps3, when im aiming sometimes another opponent will knock my cursor off when they run in front of the person im trying to shoot, and if ur big on trying to aim faster and you like to run alot or use marathon then try to get lightweight pro or put it on if u have it. A tip for avoiding noobtubes try not to put yourself next to a wall in a really annoying noob tube match or they will just shoot the wall next to you stay slightly in the open but not too much or you are an easy target for other players
Any tips for PC players? No such feature exists on the PC, to my knowledge.
